While we have long used the levers of democracy to advance the public good, we are also committed to strengthening the system itself.

We work with a diverse set of grantees and partners to address the root causes of current democratic dysfunction, to create a truly inclusive U.S. democracy capable of enduring well into the future. These efforts include supporting healthy civic engagement; repairing our country’s social fabric; and advancing effective governance and bolstering faith in the institutions of government.
