Shaphan Sepeda Helm is an operations coordinator at The David and Lucile Packard Foundation. She supports the Foundation’s operational effectiveness by managing cross-team workflows, optimizing administrative systems, and helping ensure smooth implementation of work across the Just Societies teams.
Prior to joining the Foundation in May 2022, Shaphan held administrative and program roles at mission-driven organizations in the legal field. At a nonprofit in Northwest Texas, she launched a volunteer program aimed at expanding pro bono legal services in underserved areas. Earlier in her career, she worked at an immigration law firm in Austin, Texas, where she supported individuals and families in navigating the path to residency and citizenship while helping manage day-to-day operations.
Shaphan holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration with a minor in Political Science from Texas State University. Originally from Texas, she relocated to the Bay Area in the fall of 2021 to explore opportunities in the philanthropic sector. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, planning travel adventures, staying connected with her family, and spending time with her cat, Stephan.
