Spencer is an Operations Coordinator at the David and Lucille Packard Foundation providing operational support to internal systems, project workflows, and cross-functional coordination to ensure the Foundation’s work investing in healthy families and thriving communities.
He brings non-profit operational experience from his previous role as Program Manager at the Global Alliance of Ethics and Impacts of Advanced technologies, which focused on developing guidelines for responsible use of AI in finance and education. Prior to joining the field of philanthropy and non-profits, Spencer was a research assistant for the Ethics + Emerging Sciences group, focused on the risk and social impact of emerging technologies.
Spencer holds a B.A. in Philosophy and a minor in Ethics, Public Policy, Science and Technology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. In his free time Spencer is likely to be found near the ocean surfing or reading, or exploring the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco.
