Kathy Barton is a grants officer supporting the Environment and Science goal. In this role, Kathy oversees the goal’s grantmaking budgets for Environment and Science, including the Packard Fellows program, while supporting Foundation-wide grants management initiatives. She manages and collaborates on special projects that drive toward improvement and best practices in our grants management processes. In addition, Kathy serves as a key advisor on Expenditure Responsibility grantmaking and the yearly audit.  Previously, she was a grants specialist under the Office of General Counsel, managing grants for legal and IRS compliance. Kathy joined the Packard Foundation in 2000 as a program associate for the Reproductive Health program.

Before joining the Foundation, Kathy worked for a nonprofit centered around women’s reproductive health and rights.

Outside of the Foundation, Kathy enjoys traveling, gardening, camping, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
