Amy Iftekhar is a program associate with the Global Reproductive Health initiative at The David and Lucile Packard Foundation She provides programmatic and grantmaking support to advance reproductive health and rights for women and young people, with a focus on Africa.

Amy brings over 20 years of experience in the field of reproductive health and rights. Over her long tenure at the Foundation, she has supported grantmaking efforts in countries including Ethiopia, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, India, and others. She has contributed to initiatives such as Images of Empowerment and played a key role in improving internal grantmaking operations.

She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Outside of work, Amy serves on the boards of two nonprofit organizations, volunteers with her children’s Girl Scout troops, and enjoys traveling with her family and capturing moments through photography.
