Jennifer Adams is the director of grants, data, and operations at The David and Lucile Packard Foundation. She leads efforts to strengthen and streamline the Foundation’s grantmaking practices, ensuring they are consistent, effective, and equitable across all program areas. Jennifer oversees grant management, data, and systems to enhance transparency, support learning, and improve the grantee experience.
She brings over 20 years of experience in operational leadership across the philanthropy and tech sectors. Since joining the Foundation in 2017, she has implemented trust-based practices, reduced grantee burden, and introduced data-driven systems that inform strategic decision-making.
Previously, Jennifer held senior roles at eBay, VMware, and Hortonworks, leading global teams and driving large-scale system improvements. She holds a B.S. in Business and Management Information Systems from San Jose State University.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys volunteering with local nonprofits like Loaves & Fishes and Village Harvest, sharing meals with family and friends, and spending as much time as she can with her two boys and their family dog, Willow.
