Joanne Tong is a grants officer at The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, supporting the Families and Communities teams. She manages the grantmaking budgets for Families and Communities, conducts compliance and due diligence reviews of grant files, and supports Foundation-wide grants management initiatives. Joanne also leads and collaborates on special projects to improve grants management practices and serves as a key advisor on grantmaking that supports organizations engaged in domestic public policy and advocacy.
Previously, Joanne was a program associate with the Children and Families initiative, coordinating program operations and strategy implementation. Before joining the Foundation, she worked at The California Wellness Foundation, supporting grantmaking focused on improving the health of Californians. She also worked at the San Francisco College Access Center, a state-funded pre-college program.
Joanne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Master of Arts in Education. Outside of work, she is an escape room enthusiast and avid hiker.
