About Laurence Yeung's Work

Yeung specializes in developing new tracers for Earth system cycles. These tracers bring fresh perspectives to topics such as the chemistry and dynamics of the ancient atmosphere, biosphere productivity, and nutrient cycling. By continually challenging Earth-system models with improved empirical constraints on natural processes and Earth’s fundamental machinery, Yeung hopes to improve predictions of how the Earth will change in the future. These principles may also guide the inquiry of similar processes happening on other planets, leading to a more general understanding of how atmospheres, biospheres, and geospheres interact over a range of timescales.
