About Latha Venkataraman's Work
Our group is a leader in probing, manipulating, and controlling single molecules as active elements of nanoscale devices that have the smallest possible (i.e., atomic) dimensions. We collaborate with synthetic chemists and theorists, to develop a fundamental understanding of charge transport at the nanometer scale. Besides advancing the field known broadly as molecular electronics, our interdisciplinary work has also broadened the understanding of charge transfer at metal/organic interfaces which has impact on the fields of organic electronics, photovoltaics, catalysis, and charge transfer processes in biological systems.
