I am a theortical physicist. My research aims to reveal and elucidate strange quantum properties of solids that may provide the basis for new technologies. My research group made contributions to the field of topological quantum materials, and introduced the concept of topological crystalline insulators. We introduced the first realistic material platform for creating Majorana quasiparticles and a leading scheme for Majorana-based quantum computing. We helped identify nematic superconductivity and develop theory of fracton topological order. My recent interests include non-Hermitian quantum mechanics, topology of quantum particles and quantum dynamics, nonlinear transport, and optics. I am also exploring applications of topological quantum materials in nanoelectronics and thermoelectricity.
