About Elisabeth Krause's Work
Cosmic acceleration is one of the most surprising cosmological discovery in decades, as it lies outside the standard model of physics. It could be caused by repulsive vacuum energy, it could be driven by a more dynamical form of dark energy with exotic physical properties, or it could reflect a breakdown of general relativity on cosmological distances. A new generation of ambitious surveys has been incepted to determine the nature of cosmic acceleration, and the most stringent constraints will come from the joint analysis of different cosmological probes that utilize synergies across surveys and wavelengths. My research program develops analysis strategies to rigorously synthesize the information from different data sets. My goal is to constrain the fundamental physics in the Universe, in particular, to explore the physical properties of the cosmic acceleration phenomenon.
