Nurtured as an economist, Joko has been a strong advocate on climate and sustainable land use for over 16 years. Currently Joko advises and manages part of the grantmaking under for the Packard Foundation’s Global Climate Initiative which aims to halt and reverse deforestation through just and inclusive sustainable development. In his role he works closely with Climate and Land Use Alliance (CLUA) and Forest People Climate (FPC) collaborative.

Joko previous served as the Managing Director for Inobu (now Kaleka) and a Program Manager for IDH’s Sustainable Trade Initiative in Indonesia. His past experience includes work as a Campaigner in Greenpeace and as the Sustainability Manager for Carrefour, during which time he was a Board member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

Joko was born and raised in Indonesia. He is a full time cat lover.
