Shayla is a Program Associate with Grants Data and Operations supporting the Global Reproductive Health Initiative. Prior to joining the foundation, she acquired a few years of experience in grantmaking, specifically in funding impact litigation. Before entering the field of philanthropy, she worked in healthcare settings such as reproductive health and caregiving. She comes with years of DEI experience in organizational settings and was a DEI Coordinator for a large fertility clinic. During her time there, Shayla created and led a committee, titled the Racial Awareness and Action Committee, which was dedicated to instilling equity-based practices. Her dedication to justice work led to her being named an Ambassador of Pierce County. She attended the University of Washington and holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health – Global Health.
