Katie is an associate program officer at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. She is responsible for the Foundation’s early learning grantmaking, focusing on the Informal Care and Starting Smart and Strong. Katie’s role involves fostering and maintaining relationships with grantee partners as well as across organizations and funders in the early childhood field. She joined the Packard Foundation in 2016 as a program associate.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Katie worked for Peninsula Family Service, where she secured grant funding for the organization’s programs serving children, families, and older adults, and expanded program evaluation and impact measurement. Katie’s previous experience includes working for a variety of nonprofit organizations in the social services sector, and completing an AmeriCorps service term as a classroom coach where she worked to advance kindergarten readiness at state-funded preschools. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from San Francisco State University and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Irvine.
When she’s not working, you’ll find Katie hiking coastal trails, experimenting with new recipes, or traveling.
