The ocean regulates Earth’s climate by absorbing heat, transporting it through global currents, and storing it in the deep ocean. As the climate warms, these currents evolve and sea levels rise through both thermal expansion and the melting of polar ice sheets. My research develops physics-based models that connect large-scale ocean circulation, ice sheet interactions, and local climate impacts such as coastal flooding. By linking processes across disciplines and scales, this work aims to improve projections of climate impacts and support more effective strategies for adaptation and risk management.
