Heather Ludemann is an Ocean director at The David and Lucile Packard Foundation. She oversees the Foundation’s global strategy on marine habitat conservation and ocean-based climate solutions to conserve biodiversity and mitigate climate change.

Heather brings extensive experience in marine conservation and environmental policy. Prior to joining the Foundation as a program officer, she worked at NOAA focused on ocean habitat conservation and sustainable fisheries management. She served as a Presidential Management Fellow at NOAA and in Congress. Heather has a bachelor’s degree in biology and environmental studies from Tufts University and a master’s degree in marine policy with a certificate in conservation biology policy from the University of Washington.

Heather serves on the board of the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation. She enjoys camping, skiing, travel and reading a good book.
