The Foundation’s After-school and Summer Enrichment program seeks to integrate after-school and summer learning programs into the education system to narrow the opportunity and achievement gaps for low-income students, by raising the salience of summer learning and after-school programs among California’s K–12 leaders.
Since 2008, the Foundation has partnered with Informing Change in an ongoing evaluation of the this work. This evaluation, and corresponding executive summary, provide a mid-term assessment of the Foundation’s strategy and is informed by data collected in 2013 from program providers, K–12 education leaders, and other stakeholders as well as site visits, meeting observations, and the review of other relevant materials.
