Learning Session on Nonprofit Strategic Restructuring

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation and the Sobrato Family Foundation, in partnership with La Piana Consulting, facilitated a half-day discussion about the principles and practices of strategic restructuring, including nonprofit mergers, joint ventures, and partnerships.

This video includes a conversation between Carol Larson, president and CEO of The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and Rick Williams, CEO of the Sobrato Family Foundation about the power of creative collaborations. David La Piana, Managing Partner at La Piana Consulting, discusses mergers, joint ventures, and partnerships, and reviews the pitfalls that can prevent nonprofits from moving forward toward success.

A panel of local nonprofit leaders also shares their experiences with mergers, joint ventures, and partnerships, including Nora Sobolov, Executive Director, JobTrain; Dawn Kruger, Chief Executive Officer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area; and Arne Croce, Executive Director, Peninsula Family Service.
