Communications Strategies for Children’s Coverage Advocacy During ACA Implementation

The Foundation’s Finish Line grantees are some of the most powerful voices in helping shape implementation of the Affordable Care Act and getting more parents and children the coverage they need to thrive. This brief provides communication advice from state advocates who are using smart communication strategies to shape state policy conversations on health care coverage. Children’s advocates in other states will learn lessons about framing children’s coverage in a way that garners maximum attention; on selecting the right target audiences and strategies to influence them directly and indirectly; and will have access to new ideas on how to serve as a trusted voice among decision makers.
