Review of 2015 Grantmaking

One of our goals at the Foundation is to be as open as possible with our partners about our work. Therefore, we are pleased to share with you our Review of 2015 Grantmaking.

You will see in this report a snapshot of the number and types of grants we made in 2015. You will also see a few highlights from partners who are working on a range of issues aligned with our mission. These highlights include new research on American Millennials and their attitudes towards ocean conversation; global innovations to meet the reproductive health needs of women and girls; partnerships with three California communities to provide adults with the training and support they need to ensure children are healthy and on track to reach their full potential; and investments in local, passionate leaders to support and inspire youth.

We review this grantmaking data along with what we’re learning through on-the-ground experiences, grantee interactions, external evaluations, and research. Taken together, this information helps us make informed decisions about the way we work and how we invest to increase programmatic impact.

We invite you to explore this Review of 2015 Grantmaking report and to visit our website where we provide more information about our grantmaking areas and the work of our grantees. Let us know what you think. Please share your feedback and questions by emailing

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and commitment to reflecting and learning together.
