Packard Foundation Headquarters becomes LEED Platinum Certified

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation’s green headquarters is now officially LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certified by the U.S. Green Building Council receiving 94 out of a possible 110 points. The Foundation submitted for 96 points needing at least 80 points to receive Platinum rating under the USGBC’s most recent certification standards. The building, located at 343 Second Street in downtown Los Altos, California, was built with the design goals of being LEED Platinum certified and operating at net zero energy. The Foundation hopes to receive its net zero energy certification from the International Living Futures Institute before the end of the year.
