Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute Celebrates 25 Years

One of The David and Lucile Packard Foundation’s primary goals is to restore the health and productivity of the world’s oceans and coasts, on which all life depends. The Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI), one of the Foundation’s marine science grantees, has been working for 25 years to explore and better understand our oceans. Founded by David Packard in 1987, MBARI is a world-class oceanographic research center that supports cutting-edge research and development in oceanography through a dynamic and unusual collaboration of science and engineering.
