The Packard Fellowships for Science and Engineering supports some of our nation’s most promising early-career scientists and engineers with flexible funding and the freedom to take risks and explore new frontiers in their fields of study.
Dr. Erich Jarvis, 2000 Packard Fellow, studies how the brain generates, perceives and learns behavior, specifically focused on the vocal learning of songbirds. Erich recently co-authored the results of new research on male mice using vocalizations to court female mice that was highlighted by Discovery and Smithsonian Magazine.
