Yeme Belayneh is the country advisor for the David and Lucile Packard Foundation in Ethiopia. She oversees the Foundation’s grantmaking activities in Ethiopia and regionally, represents the Foundation in different national and international fora, and supervises the operations of the Sub-Saharan Africa regional office and team members, based in Addis Ababa. Yeme has worked with the RH Program since 2000.
Yeme is actively involved in policy dialogue with the Ministry of Health and other government stakeholders as well as the donor community. Occasionally, she provides trainings on adolescent reproductive health and youth leadership development; and serves as external examiner (program/policy) to Addis Ababa University, School of Public Health. She is one of the chapter contributors for the Reproductive and Child Health Training Text Book, published by John Hopkins and Addis Ababa Universities. As a co-chair for the 3rd International Family Planning Conference, hosted in Addis Ababa in November 2013, Yeme led the organization of the conference.
Yeme has a BA in International Relations and Political Science from Addis Ababa University and MA in Organizational Leadership through Azusa-Pacific University in the US.
