He has also volunteered for The Giraffe Heroes Project, Experience Music project, the Natural Resources Defense Council, The Coastal Watershed Council, and assisting with a dig at El Pilar, a Mayan city in Belize, as well as organized two dinners to bring together representatives of nonprofits to look at working together and sharing resources: one was for groups working on AIDS in the Bay Area and the other was for groups working on water quality in the Monterey Bay Area. Currently, he volunteers with Sacred Heart Community Center to organize their annual Pack-a-Back drive to get backpacks full of school supplies for children whose parents can’t afford it. Tom is a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and the Green Meetings Industry Council.
