Thania is the Program Associate for the Local Grantmaking Program with a focus on the Strong Families and Thriving Youth portfolios. Prior to joining the Packard Foundation, she worked as a Program Assistant for College Futures Foundation to close education equity gaps and further college completion for marginalized students. Thania holds a B.S. in Community and Regional Development from UC Davis, where she spent a summer abroad in Ecuador to examine the impact that socioeconomic and political factors have on indigenous communities in relation to environmental justice and human rights. She was also an active member of IGNITE, which seeks to empower and prepare young womxn to actively engage in the political realm.
