Lane Gallett Smith joined the Foundation in 2017 and is the internal communications manager. In this role, Lane fosters transparent and authentic communications among staff and leadership, manages the intranet, and provides strategic communications support for the Operations division and other cross-functional teams. Prior to this role, Lane worked in the Office of the General Counsel leading operations and trainings for the legal and compliance teams.
Before she moved to the Bay Area and got a job at Packard, Lane taught high school English in Arizona. She holds bachelor’s degrees in both Secondary Education and English Literature from Arizona State University and a master’s in Rhetoric and Writing from Northern Arizona University.
When she’s not over-analyzing the use of emojis in her staff emails, Lane volunteers as a board member for the California School-Age Consortium and the Junior League of Palo Alto Mid-Peninsula. She enjoys spending time away from her computer exploring San Jose with her husband, son, and Golden Retriever and is always looking for the next best novel to read or cooking show to binge.
