Children, Families, and Communities
The Children, Families, and Communities (CFC) Program works to ensure opportunities for all children to reach their potential. Our central goal is to achieve access to voluntary, high-quality preschool for all three- and four-year-olds in the the state, starting with those who need it most, through our Preschool for California's Children subprogram. We also have two other ambitious goals: Promoting access to Health Insurance for all children through our Children's Health Insurance subprogram and building publicly sustainable systems that promote enriched, extended-learning opportunities for elementary- and middle-school-aged children which are well implemented and become a platform for expansion into summer enrichment through our After-School and Summer Enrichment subprogram.
