Program-Related Investments
In addition to making grants, the Foundation makes a variety of program-related investments (PRIs) to support our overall goals and objectives. These investment strategies are typically employed when a traditional grant is not the most appropriate use of funds. They may take on a variety of forms including loans, guaranties, social deposits, lines of credit, and equity investments. PRIs are valuable because they can assist a nonprofit organization to obtain credit or improve their credit history and credit worthiness, helping to make the organization more capable of obtaining commercial credit in the future.

With rare exception, we make PRIs available only to organizations that are existing Foundation grantees.
