In 1986, David and Lucile Packard donated $40 million for the construction of a new children's hospital in Palo Alto, California. Now known as the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford (LPCH), this state-of-the-art facility was designed as a nurturing, supportive place for children that incorporates gardens, outdoor play areas, and other unique features into the healing process. With over 650 physicians and 4,750 support staff and volunteers, LPCH is a world-class, nonprofit hospital devoted entirely to the care of babies, children, adolescents, and expectant mothers.
For the past two decades, the Foundation has continued to support LPCH in meeting the needs of children and their families. To learn more please visit the hospital's Web site at www.lpch.org.
