Ethiopia
Ethiopia

The goal of the Ethiopia subprogram is to increase access to quality family planning and reproductive health services, especially among young people. This goal supports the population policy of the government of Ethiopia.

What We Fund
Through funding to nongovermental and private sector organizations, our grantmaking seeks to:

  1. Expand family planning and reproductive health service delivery, including postabortion care, in an innovative and cost-effective way that ensures quality while increasing coverage. Such services include facilitating private sector provisions of family planning and reproductive health services, social marketing of contraceptives, and community-based service delivery.
  2. Expand youth access to modern family planning and reproductive health services and information. Primary approaches include supporting youth reproductive health clubs, integrating information into other youth-serving activities, and advocacy.
  3. Foster a social environment receptive to family planning and reproductive health practices. We support local organizations in their research, analysis, and education on reproductive rights. We also support the use of mass media to disseminate information about family planning and reproductive health options; to improve support for contraception, reproductive health, and postabortion care; and to increase youth access to information and services, both in and out of school settings.

Unsolicited proposals are not accepted for this subprogram.
