Conservation and Science
Conservation & Science

Our Conservation and Science grantmaking supports nonprofit organizations that are engaged in local conservation work and/or providing environmental education for children in the local communities. The Foundation also believes that being out in the natural world and learning about the environment is a wonderful way to bring families closer together.

What We Fund

1. Funding is provided for organizations that provide environmental education opportunities for children.

2. Funding is provided for organizations that promote environmental stewardship with young people.

3. Funding is provided for family-based environmental education programs.

What We Look For

1. We look for organizations that are effectively reaching young people and providing quality education about the environment and environmental issues. Priority is given to organizations with programs that educate young people about the unique environment and landscape of the five counties in which we provide funding. Further, we have an interest in supporting programs that provide environmental education to traditionally underserved populations.

For existing programs, we look for model, high quality programs with a track record of success. For new or emerging programs, we look to support programs that demonstrate high potential and promise for future success.

What We Do Not Fund

Except in special circumstances, support is not provided for research studies, capital campaigns, and endowments.
