The David and Lucile Packard Foundation works to ensure opportunities for all children to reach their potential, to protect reproductive rights and stabilize world population, to conserve and restore the earth's natural system, and to encourage the creative pursuit of science

In 2005, the Packard Foundation awarded over 630 grants totaling nearly $201 million* to nonprofit organizations working to conserve and enhance resources and improve the quality of life in our community, the nation, and the world.

*Includes a $30,569,000 award to the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health as part of a one-time $230 million grant made in 2001 to support the Campaign for Packard Children's Hospital.
