The Packard Foundation has a long history of supporting minority-led organizations serving low-income communities and communities of color. Specifically, we support those organizations aligned with our core program areas: population and reproductive health; children, families, and communities; and conservation and science. The grantee profiles below represent a small, yet inspiring sample of the powerful results that have emerged from the relationships between the Packard Foundation and grassroots, community-oriented organizations throughout California. In 2009 and beyond, we will continue listening to community leaders and will fortify our existing commitments with additional grants to strengthen the capacity and leadership in organizations serving low-income and communities of color.
